This time, we will introduce the mysterious Onpika-kun's origin story and profile.

Who is Onpika-kun?

He has a playful and mischievous personality, but when it comes to work, he goes into "oni" (ogre) mode.

That contrast is what makes him so endearing.

 

How he was created

We decided to create a character for ONKODO and began the production process by commissioning a designer.

 

Motif: Oni (Ogre)

From the "pika" (flash) image associated with "Hikari" (light) in "ONKODO," we thought of lightning, which led to the creation of a雷神 (Raijin, god of lightning) as a base.

 

As seen in the Fujin Raijin-zu (Wind God and Thunder God screens), a Japanese national treasure, Raijin was depicted as an oni in ancient times, which became the motif for the character.

 

Attention to Detail in Each Part

First, his shaggy head is inspired by the "solder tip cleaner" used during soldering.

It's like a golden brillo pad.

 

Next, his ears are speaker binding posts, where speaker cables are inserted.

His front teeth are "banana plugs," which we also offer as original plug products.

He's holding a soldering iron in his right hand, but being an oni, he probably doesn't feel the heat.

He has solder coiled around his left arm, ready to solder at any moment.
(When it comes to work, he's in oni mode.)

 

We paid great attention to even the smallest details, and we are incredibly grateful to the designer who brought him to life.
